What sets HyperPROtect TPU Paint Protection Film Gloss apart
HyperPROtect Gloss is a transparent paint protection film (PPF) made of thermoplastic polyurethane for vehicles. It is 190 µm (7.5 mil) thick and glossy, with a gloss value above 95 and haze below 1 %. It is supplied by the metre from the 152 cm wide roll.
It is built up from a top coating, the TPU film and a colourless, acrylic-based solvent adhesive; the adhesive is protected by a silicone-coated PET liner (85 µm) that is peeled off during application. According to Hypertix, the film is self-healing: minor scratches and signs of wear recover. It is treated against yellowing.
The data sheet also lists impact resistance and salt water resistance as well as a smoother surface that is easier to clean and to which dirt adheres less. In the resistance tests, the film showed no change after QUV-A weathering (3000 h), a xenon test (1000 h) and contact with 5 % acid, 5 % sodium hydroxide solution, alcohol and petrol.

How the work is done
- 01 Prepare the surface Work in a clean room; wash the paint, remove bonded contamination and degrease — every speck of dust stays visible under the film.
- 02 Apply wet Spray application solution onto the paint and the adhesive side so the film stays movable until the position is right.
- 03 Squeegee out Push the liquid out from the centre outwards with a PPF squeegee, edges last.
- 04 Press down the edges Lay the edges down carefully and do not overstretch them.
